I'm Renita Sanders, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) with dual licensure in Illinois and Indiana.
Family Caregiver Counseling
My passion for this work is both professional and deeply personal. As a family caregiver for my mother, I lived the reality of what I now help clients navigate—the exhaustion, guilt, difficult decisions, and emotional weight of caring for someone you love.
This experience transformed my practice. I understand caregiving not just theoretically, but from the inside. Combined with several years of clinical experience, I bring both expertise and genuine empathy to help caregivers manage burnout, set healthy boundaries, process complex emotions, and reclaim their sense of self beyond the caregiver role.
Geriatric Mental Health
Older adults face unique mental health challenges that deserve specialized attention. I work with seniors experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, adjustment to aging, retirement transitions, and coping with chronic illness. Your mental health matters at every age, and you deserve support that honors your life experience.
Adult Counseling (All Ages)
I also work with adults of all ages who are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in understanding your unique story. I believe healing happens when you feel truly heard and supported. Together, we'll identify meaningful goals and develop practical strategies that create lasting change.
My experience includes school counseling, private practice, community mental health work, nonprofit sectors and specialized support for older adults and families navigating complex care decisions. This professional foundation, enriched by my personal experience as a family caregiver, equips me to provide both expert guidance and genuine understanding.
If you're ready to take the next step toward healing and growth, I'm here to walk alongside you.
Taking the first step is the hardest, but you don't have to do it alone. I'm here to walk alongside you.
